Privacy
Short version: no accounts, no ads, no analytics, no tracking cookies.
Visitors
We don't use analytics or advertising scripts. Just reading kduckjil sets no cookies. Our hosting provider (Cloudflare) processes standard request data such as IP addresses to deliver and protect the site.
Reactions, polls and comments
When you tap a reaction, vote, like or comment, we set one first-party cookie (kdj_v, a random ID, kept for a year) so you get one reaction, one vote and one like per comment. We store only a salted hash of that ID and a salted hash of your IP address — never the IP address itself — and never show either on the site.
A comment stores the nickname and text you wrote and when you posted it. The IP hash on a comment is used against spam and deleted after 30 days. Comments are protected by Cloudflare Turnstile, which checks you're not a bot when you write a comment (see Cloudflare's privacy policy). A comment also stores the country you chose (self-reported, not checked). If you leave the nickname empty, your browser keeps a random ID in its own storage and sends us only a one-way hash of it; we show "Fan#" plus the first four characters of that hash and store a salted hash of it. Your nickname, country and that random ID are remembered in your own browser only. Want your comment taken down? Use Report on it or the removal form.
View counts
Each story shows how many times it was viewed. When you open a story, a small script on the page tells us once per day (your browser remembers the date in its own storage). To avoid counting the same person twice in a day we keep a salted hash of your IP address that changes every day and is deleted after two days; only the daily totals are kept. Visits without JavaScript and obvious bots aren't counted.
Fan comments we quote
We quote short excerpts of public comments with a link to the original. We don't collect or show usernames, nicknames, channel names or profile pictures. If you wrote a comment and want it gone, ask us — it's hidden right away.
Idol requests
When you use "Request an idol", we keep the idol name and the optional "what news" text you typed, when you sent it, and a salted hash of your IP address (to stop spam, deleted after 30 days). There's no email or contact field and we don't show requests on the site. The form is protected by Cloudflare Turnstile.
Removal requests
When you send the removal form we keep what you typed (the link, reason, message and, if you give it, your email) so we can act on it and reply. To stop abuse we also keep a salted hash of your IP address for one day; we never store the IP address itself.

kduckjil uses YouTube API Services to read public comments. See the YouTube Terms of Service and the Google Privacy Policy. Official videos are embedded only when you choose to play them, using YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode.
